Re: Dr. Roland Chalifoux
Dear Members of the Board:
It is my privilege to recommend Dr. Roland Chalifoux for licensing in the state of West Virginia. I am aware of Dr. Chalifoux’s surgical skills, his honesty, and his desire to reconstitute his training experience by serving as a Fellow with Dr. Bailes at the University of West Virginia Neurosurgical Service. Dr. Chalifoux has been the victim of some vicious politicking in the State of Texas and has his license abrogated for the flimsiest of reasons. I have personally reviewed the cases that he had been accused of mistreating and I found absolutely no evidence of any breach of medical standards. The individual who accused Dr. Chalifoux of surgical misconduct has since been relieved of his position as Chief of Neurosurgery at the University of Colorado and has enough problems of his own to stay out of Texas. This is not only my opinion, but the opinion of a number of other neurosurgeons who have reviewed these cases.
I have been impressed by Dr. Chalifoux’s courage, honesty, and capabilities. He has my endorsement for licensing by your Board in the State of West Virginia. If there is any other information that you need or desire, please do not hestitate to contact me.
Yours very truly,
Wolff M. Kirsch, M.D.
