Rebuttal to reporter Therese Cox for doing a shabby job by not even quoting Dr. Payne correctly. She has the truth but can't handle the truth
Dear Therese,
I read your article. You quoted me incorrectly concerning my statement to Dr. Chalifoux about not proceeding with the aneurysm eradication. What I actually said was, “If you decide to not obliterate the large aneurysm that would be a reasonable approach and decision even though you had told the family that you intended to reduce it or remove it from the circulation.”. Clearly, there were risks with both approaches!
It is a shame you took it so easy with the Texas state board. The judges threw out all the cases except 3 in which 2 involved very minor discrepancies that could be easily confirmed by an independent review from a neurosurgeon of your own choice. In one of the cases the board blamed Dr. Chalifoux for the nurses not giving a patient dilantin even though he ordered it. In reality, he only had one serious case. Why did the board go after him but let many other neurosurgeons with similar cases off the hook? Why did the board have so many cases thrown out if they were so professional and meticulous in there review?
