Why won't the TSBME go After Dr. Todd? Answer: He's a political giant at Columbia HCA Arlinton Medical Center
As of July 14, 2003
MEDICAL MALPRACTICE CASES in Tarrant County: Frederick Todd II, M.D.
342-160628-95 David Case filed 8/31/95. (Judgment against Todd)
Apparently died of asphyxiation from a blood clot in the neck following elective neck surgery that day. Surgery ACDF C5-6 on 3/8/94.
141-171581-97 Evelyn Figgins filed 11/19/97. (Active)
Apparently identified a cervical fracture in a vehicular patient but she became worst after he attempted to perform traction and surgery.
342-159699-95 David Watts filed 7/17/95 (Judgment against Todd)
Apparently, Dr. Todd left a needle in this patient’s back following surgery and never went back to remove it.
048-187168-01 Robert Chelette filed 4/11/01 (Settled against Todd)
The patient apparently had an accident with a blood clot in his head. His surgery was apparently delayed. Because of the delay, the patient now has permanent brain damage.
067-160784-95 Melanie McMannus filed 9/1/95 (Judgment against Todd)
Dr. Todd apparently operated on two normal disks and ended up fusing the patient at L4-5 and L5-S1. The radiographic studies were apparently fairly normal.
153-198576-03 Michael Murray filed 4/28/03 (Active)
Apparently, the patient had a decompression and fusion after undergoing a questionable discogram. The young patient was fused at L5-S1 for apparently questionable results in light of relatively normal radiographic findings and minimal clinical symptoms.
067-186003-01 Dana Rains filed 1/10/01
The patient apparently had a disc herniation in the cervical spine at C3-4 but was operated on by Dr. Todd at another level.
017-16322-96 Lucy Fenema filed 3/6/96
This patient apparently was scheduled for surgery at the C4-5 level but received surgery at C5-6, C6-7. She continues to have neck and arm pain.
